NABOBS GOOD RACE Though Nabob was not even placed in hi race at New Orleans he showed that he was easily the best of the horses that started A Now Orleans special says of the colts perform ¬ ance Vance anceBennington Bennington Kensington Gardners Garners Crescent City Derby candidate made his first appearance at the meeting in this race and his performance was the most impressive of the afternoon Just as the barrier went up Ben Frost cut him off and Sullivan was obliged to pull up By the time he got on his stride again he was apparently hopelessly ojit jilt of the race being fifteen or twenty lengths behind the leader From the threeeighths pole though he came like a shot and finished right on top of Globe II and Tabouret Tambour being beaten only a neck for third place The race was run in 1 16J but Nabob was timed separately for the distance in 1 15t His owners wore particularly elated over the fact that he came out of the race sound as the horse has until recently been troubled with a bad knee ever since the Nashville meet ¬ ing King Newton Bennington Kensington one of his owners is confident that if his colt goes to the post for the local derby sound he will win the rich event John W Schorr Scorer evidently thinks the son of Florist a dangerous horse in the race in which either Lieber Libber Karl or Presbyterian will bear his colors for before leaving here he offered Ben ¬ nington Kingston Gardner S3000 for their colt presum presume ¬ ably to get him out of the way
