OPENING OF THE LOCAL SEASON SEASONThe Season The Chicago racing season of 1898 opens this afternoon It is true that Lakeside track is in the adjoining state of Indiana but its support comes from Chicago and to all practical intents and purposes it is a Chicago track There is every prospect that the meeting at Lakeside will bo a success The stables overflow with horses and that good ones are among them todays today entries amply attest The meeting of such fast ones as Imp Paul Qriggs Rigs and Dr Sheppard at a mile is alone worth a journey to see and the other racing attractions are mani mania ¬ fold
