ENCHANTERS FAST RACE Eugene Leighs Sleighs good threeyearold Duke of Haven won another race his second at the Lakeside meeting yesterday He was in the third event a mile dash and opposed to Offi Off ¬ cial cal Floronso Florins and three other threeyearolds The Duke outclassed the lot but was hardly a 1 to 3 chance Floronso Florins or Official promised to give him an argument But they didnt didn't and the Duke won in a catchmeifyoucan sort of way by a length The boys all seemed to have waiting orders and sauntered down the back stretch There was no pace and the Duke won as he chose all the way wayA way A fast lot assembled in the fifth race a three quarter dash Out of it came a good looking contest Enchanter and Newsgatherer Newscaster were about equal favorites around 8 to 5 but Indra Indrawn and Flotow Lotto were both smartly played En ¬ chanter off in front stepped the first half in 47i seconds Indra Indrawn with Flotow Lotto a bad actor made up a lot of ground and on the turn for home was within striking distance But En ¬ chanter was too fast and running truly won a clever race in 1 13i 13iLizzie Lizzie Tizzies R a 40 to 1 chance won the first race and Meddler a natural 1 to 2 chance easily captured the second Cushings Cushing Loyalist Shadow filly Eva Wilson thanks to Bloss Loss good handling was the lucky one in the fourth and Deyo Defy heavily played at 5 to 1 by a wise con ¬ tingent tangent staggered home in front of Headlight in the last event
