GOSSIP OF THE TURF Racegoers Racehorse and lovers of good horses generally will greatly regret to learn that the crack race mare Fleur Flour de Lis Lisa by Maxim Fleurette Ferreted may never again face the starter AbStemlarhad all arrangements made to ship the mare east the latter part of this week but she pulled up lame after being cantered and looked to be irretrievably broken down Her previous good leg appears to be ruptured and Stemler Steamer is naturally very much worried over his stroke of bad luck When Fleur Flour de Lis Lisa was right on edge she showed herself to be a mare of class and gave promise of developing into another Firenzi Frenzied She is closely related to the latter being out of a full sister to that famous mare Breeder and Sportsman SportsmanGlenheim Sportsmanlike Glenheim Gene winner of the Juvenile and the star of John E Maddens stable was the ob ¬ served of all observers at Morris Park track Monday His impressive victory in the first big stake of the year made turfmen Turkmen pay consider ¬ able attention to the superbly bred youngster and his perfect manners and beautiful action in the informal exercise of the morning won him a host of admirers admirersGlenheim admirers Glenheim Gene is not a Hamburg in looks at pres Ypres ¬ ent Kent Ho lacks the range and grand conform ¬ ation action of this great horse but there seems to be no question of his exceptional quality He isa Lisa racehorse all over and his beautiful disposi dispose tion ion and even temper are not the leastof least his fine qualities Morning Telegraph
