THE BROOKLYN HANDICAP The first of the two great handicap races of the eastern turf the Brooklyn will be decided at Gravesend Graves track tomorrow Precisely what horses will start will of course only be settled tomorrow but Ornament 128 Ben Holladay Holland 121 On Deck 119 Tillo Till 118 Dr Catlett Cattle 117 DondOro Donor 113 Lehman 114 Royal Stag 110 Semper Simper Ego 106 Previous 104 Lou Bramble 104 Traverser Traverse 98 and Sly Fox 92 have been doing such good hearty work or have already shown so well in racing that it is expected they will all go to the post This would constitute a very fine field indeed and one that would require keen judgment to make a winning selection from Top weight and all Ornament is likely to prove the favorite The famous son of Order is reported to have trained on in the most satisfactory way pos ¬ sible sable and can be depended on to run a great race Eastern opinion is that Sly Fox has a fairly good chance Precedents are against 3yearolds winning such a race but Sly Fox is in so light and has been running so well of late that it appears probable he will cut quite a figure in the Brooklyn
