HARLEMS HAREMS GOOD RACING With a fast track good fields and close fin ¬ ishes dishes there was good sport at Harlem Wednes Swedes ¬ day afternoon afternoonThe afternoon The first race was won by the favorite Eose Ese L Clawson Lawson waited with her until into the stretch and then won easily from the second choice Guess Me Mazie Maze V and Guess Me ran head and head around the turn with Abide and the 30 to 1 shot Pat Cleburn Caleb close in their wake When Eose Ese L took command the others began driving Abide dropped out while Guess Me Mazie Maze Y and Pat Cleburn Caleb had a stubborn contest contestInconstancy contesting Inconstancy was a strong favorite in the field of sixteen that faced the gate in the second race She never had a chance Getting away in the middle of the bunch the field quickly closed around her and she had no chance at any point There were only two horses in the actual contest Miss Casey secured the Jead Jed in the first furlong and directly afterward Amy Wade took second position Miss Casey was two open lengths to the good and Amy Wade was kiiead skied of Fresco and Necedah Necked running as a pair when five furlongs had been covered In the stretch Amy Wade promptly closed with and passed Miss Casey CaseyThe Casey The third race gave Spirituolle Spiritual another chance to show her quality Hill took her back in the first sixteenth rated around the turn and ran to the front in the stretch Boney Bony Boy and Canace Cancel made the pace together Mail Bag moved up on the inside1 before a furlong had been run but was shut off by Boney Bony Boy on the outside bearing over against Canace Cancel Burns then had to drop Mail Bag back to Spirituelle Spiritual The first four were in pairs enter ¬ ing King the stretch with Bill Anthony a length away Canace Cancel weakened half way down but Mail Bag Boney Bony Boy and Bill Anthony had a great drive home Bill Anthony ridden or whipped from the start got the place placeThere placate There were a lot of good things in the fifth race an allowance event for 2yearolds Aprils Lady and Sevens were the choices A tip on Mr Johnson was keenly noticed and Tom Bar ¬ rett Brett had a respectable bet on his filly Josephine B The winner turned up in Brown Wim Swim mers ers Troubadour Mona filly aptly named Monadonr Monad ridden by Martin wearing Pat Dunnes Dunes colors It was a great race between Monadour Monad Josephine B Mr Johnson and Elsie Cr j jGoodrich Goodrich Goodrich tried to make a runaway race of the eight and a half furlong selling event He was the post favorite with a slight preference over Ollie Mollie Dixon After rushing Goodrich out into j the lead H Martin steadied him to the stretch i and took a lead of three lengths Clawson Lawson sat still as a mouse on Ollie Mollie Dixon until she was straightened out Then a fierce drive ensued Martins whip work was phenomenal but un ¬ availing In the hardest kind of a drive Claw son landed his mount right on the post postThe apostate The Manxman Mamma had an easy task in the sixth race Abuse tried to get away from him but failed and gave up the struggle before going a half Thereafter The Manxman Mamma was not brjth berth ered erred Bellicose was reserved for a stretch run nd easily got the place Cherryflame Cheryl had the speed of the field in the closing race At the head of the stretch Pearl Walker Lew Blew Hopper Lone Princess and Little Singer were in close order behind Cherryflame Cheryl When called on the latter drew away Pearl Walkerloutfinished Lew Blew Hopper Eoger Eager B ran with the winner to the middlo middle of the upper turn where he stopped stoppedJoe stopped Joe Hill will leave Friday night for Latonia Antonia where he will ride Lilian Lillian Bell in the Oaks Sat urdaj RDA I After Cherryflame Cheryl had been run up T M Berry under whose colors Cherryflame Cheryl ran claimed Pearl Walker for 800 and got her Berry acted for Horace S Tomlinson Tompkins who is said to own Cherryflame Cheryl Horsemen who dis dais ¬ cussed the transaction said Gray who owns Pearl Walker got decidedly the worst of the deal Pearl Walker was generally estimated to be worth from 2000 to 2500 She is engaged in the Englewood Stakes one mile for 3yearold fillies at Washington Park THOS ETHOS J GALLAGHER
