easily at the end the other two were driving Macy Marcy was the best He had to be hard driven though at the head of the stretch to get clear The coJt cot is gstting gusting cunning and bears in some from the whip He came very near being disqualified HP and Traverser Traverse swung wide enough in the stretch to give The Manxman Mamma room to get through on the inside When straightened the three were about on even terms Burns used his whip on Macy Marcy The colt bore in and it looked as though he sharply interfered with Traverser Traverse The lat ¬ ter tear in turn bumped The Manxman Mamma Slack who rode Traverser Traverse made a claim of foui foul He was slow in making the claim aad ad before giving it notice the judges announced the result After hearing Slacks story Thorpe was sent for He also claimed that Macy Marcy interfered with Traverser Traverse A long consultation was held but the judges decided to let the race go as the horses finished Traverser Traverse is a bad horse and always darts to the rail He may have been the direct cause of the interference The Manxman Mamma was nicely ridden and ran an extraordinarily good race Scratched raceScratched backscratcher
