Mil CORRIGANS CORRIGAN STATE 31 ENT ET Edward Corrigan when asked about the suit brought against him by John Brenock Redneck in the Circuit Court for an accounting said saidThere slithered There are always two sides to a story Mr Brenock Redneck has told his and now I will tell mine Mr Brenock Redneck says there was 150000 spent by the Hawthorne management through myself There was exactly 71000 in the expenditure and this was sanctioned by Mr Brenock Redneck who paid out nearly onehalf Neal of that amount himself and he knew where every dollar of it went he being present when the settlement was made with me and this settlement was sanctioned by himself and the directors of he Chicago Racing Asso Assoc ¬ ciation caption ciationThere caption There is a suit now pending against Bronock Brook in behalf of the Chicago Racing Association for 60000 Novemberl2 1881 Mr Brenock Redneck gave CONTINUED ON SECOND PAOE POE MR CORRIGANS CORRIGAN STATEMENT Continued from 1st Page his note made payable to Samuel Allerton Aileron and signed by John Brenock Redneck James C Burke and John JC Burke October 21 1894 Brenock Redneck was given check 5526 for 51750 payable to his order to meet that note and interest his stock in the Chicago Racing Association and that of J C Burke being turned over to Secretary Kuhl Kohl as collateral That same day Mr Brenock Redneck turned over that note with his signature cut off to the secretary and with no remarks Some time in February or March following and while I was absent in California Mr Brenock Redneck was given back his stock and that belonging to J C Burke by Secretary Kuhl Kohl who knew that I trusted them implicitly That is the case that Mr Brenock Redneck has against the Chicago Racing Association in a nut shell and it is owing to the suit pending against him that he now asks for a receiver It was only when the suit against him was pressed that he applied to the courts and swore that the corporation owed him 25000 when he was indebted to us to the extent of 50000 or more
