to 15 to 1 J Reiff Riff was up and getting off in the front division Astor was second to Branch into the straight and well handled won with something left Branch was driving to beat Star and Crescent when Astor passed him on the outside Ironical and Hosi Hoi showed first away from the post but the former dropped out of the race at the first half while Hosi Hoi rating along all the way beat Star and Crescent for the third money Peg Parks was well up upThe Ute The favorite players got the money on Pat Dunnes Dunes Official but it is questionable whether or not Locust Blossom who finished third would have been first past the post with a bet ¬ ter tear ride Thorpe has a fashion of stealing up on Mr Caldwell so he got George Lee off in front Official being second and Sybaris Sybarite third Julia Hazel fourth away at once took com ¬ mand Mandy and at the far turn George Lee having Cropped away back she was leading with Offi Off Hal second In fifth position but close up ran Locust Blossom lead but was quickly outrun first by Hardy Pardee Parsee then by Jinks and Boney Bony Boy At the finish he was passed by Jolly Roger landing in fifth po ¬ sition sitting ten lengths behind the winner Once straightened out Jinks soon had Hardy Pardee Parsee safe and the latter as easily ran on in front of Boney Bony Boy So they finished without any sem seem ¬ blance Blanche of a contest lengths separating each of the first five fiveW five W KteCleveland much disgusted with the Locust jbssoni bassoon ride still had heart to bet on his filly Amy Wade and told his friends to do likewise as the filly was good He was re ¬ warded by seeing her first past the judges from Braw Lad the favorite The latter led until well into the last quarter Jenkins riding Amy Wade with rare judgment for a supposed stable boy keeping her together for the finish then utilizing her turn of speed and landing his mount first where the money is hung up Cant Dance was second away but soon fell out of the race Tranby Tabby then took third position but Prosecutor came within half a length of beating him for the third money Thorpe and Con Reagan were caught in the netting so they might as well have been left at the post It showed where Thorpe always is or tries to be with his horse moving and the run nicely timed so as to miss getting caught caughtPitfall caught Pitfall and Treeby Trebly made the running in tho thou closing race the former retaining the lead to the last quarter where Millie M took com ¬ mand Mandy closely followed by Tonto Onto The pair drove home the last eighth and Tonto Onto lasting the longest won Queen Safie Safe was many lengths behind at the turn for home but she beat Wins low for third money although finishing many lengths behind Millie M Winslow was inter ¬ fered feared with on the upper turn Treeby Trebly died off at fiveeighths firefights and King Dance third at the quarter quit before she did Unity never had a chance simply because he had no speed speedM
