Pirate was the best He was nicely handled too getting oil close to the rail and staying there Hothersall Others was lucky in not getting shut off on the stretch turn This is how he won the race Those in front turned wide and the Pirate saved a lot of ground by skinning the rails Shinfane Shinbone did well but stopped right oa the end Arthur MeKuight Eking got away wall on his stride and showed a lot of speed He too was tiring badly The comment applies to Mazie Maze Y Consider ¬ ing King the siza size of the field there was little or no bumping or inferference interference during the race The first part of it but finished like a lion Reiff Riff practically stole the race He skinned the rails on the stretch turn and squeezed between them and Dr Sheppard before Sloan on the latter knew what bad happened At that point Dr Sheppard seemed to be winning and the boy on him evidently thought Storm King was the one he had to beat and paid strict attention to him It was a cracking good race from a time standpoint The last mile was run in 1391 The Devil was badly shut off passing the stand the first time Rose was obliged to pull him up and go around tUe true field Taking this and a bad ride into consideration his race was away above the average Fervor was pinched out on the stretch turn and whatever chances he had were ruiued ruined there He seemed beaten though at that point Storm King set a good pace and hung on gamely He is a nice horse Before the race the judge called all the boys up and gave them in ¬ structions tractions to do their best to win winScratched wisecracked
