Tidemark was practically left at the post With anything like an equal break he could not have lost When the barrier rose the horse darted to the outside Consequently it would be hard to blame the staitor stator for the horse being left Nivoce Invoice ran a clever race and Mary Black a poor one The latter did not have her usual speed and was beaten before going a half mile Nicholas displayed a Alpen Galen was much the best He is a cracking good colt got away well on his stride and was perfectly ridden Maber Amber waited in behind Miss Marion and never made a move until he straightened away Below the eighth pole it was evident that the Fleischmann Freshman entry would win Maher either through carelessness or purposely let Alpen Galen bear in at the same time Miss Marion bore toward the inside There was a chance for a foul but it is doubtful whether or not Alpen Galen touched Miss Marion Rutter Ruttier made a claim but it was not allowed Miss Marion showed phenomenal speed and ran a grand race She was perhaps used too much the first quar quark ¬ ter tear Still little or no fault could be found with the ride Dr Eichberg Iceberg far on the outside all the way picked the good going and finished strong Chancery may have sulked the first part of it He dropped out of it early and was also interfered with on the stretch turn With better racing luck he surely would have been third Sea Lion ran a greatly improved race Jinks ap ¬ peared pearled lame in her preliminary and was never a dangerous contender She seems to be far from her best The Barrister off in front dropped steadily back Sir Huberts Hubert race was far from being good goodScratched woodcraft Scratched El Mido Midol 118 118Alpen Alpen Galen place 6 to 5 show 1 to 2 Miss Marion place 4 to 1 show 2 to 1 Dr Eichberg to think it was a sprint race He lay far out of it the first mile and a half but when he cut loose Wiuslow Winslow passed those in front of him as though they were tied If anything the boy made his move too soon Bethlehem Star did well Considering he was one of the pacemakers all the way the gelding displayed gameuess gameness in banging on as well as he did Hosi Hoi was rank and it was impossible to place him He was fighting for his head all the way Paul Kauvar Kava seems to be of no present account After going about a mile and a half Lucid sulked sulkedWinslow sulked Winslow place handily second and third hard at it Populist was the best and far the best ridden He is a slow f sneer but galloped the others to pieces on the flat Houston is a wonder when riding this kind of a race Ho saves every bit of ground possible and ho ps his mount over the obstacles skilfully skillfully Jezebel was right there all the way She seemed rank and it is more than probable that Ellison made a mistake by not going on with her instead of riding a waiting race Master Fred did not have speed enough to beat the two in front The weight on Proverb was too much for so small a horse Uncle Jim will
