O1P MAKES A SHOW OF MACY MAY Racing in and about Chicago caino casino to a close yesterday at Lakeside It was a handsome windup too The day was bright and spring ¬ like and the fact that Imb Iamb and Macy Marcy were to have another battle proved a great drawing card A crowd of about 2500 people was out Beside the ImpMacy Impact race there was carded a twomile toile event and it proved a most interest ¬ ing King feature featureIt feature It was the third race a handicap at eight and onehalf Neal furlongs that brought out Imp and Macy Marcy The betting was very heavy The public is always willing to play Imp no matter what she has to beat or whatever her price is She was always about 3 to 2 and at these odds a lot of money was wagered on her Macy Marcy was heavily played too Mr Schorr Scorer bet a few hun ¬ dreds dreads 01 his horse and all the heavy bettors followed him Al Fresco the only other starter opened at 6 to 1 and was backed down two points pointsThere pinscher There was little or nothing to the race Imp jumped into the load at the start and just tow ff the other two She passed the stand the llrst alls time five lengths in front and hold this advantage down the backstretch On the far tarn she drew farther away from Macy Marcy increas increase ¬ ing King her lead to a dozan doan lengths From the head of the stretch home McNickle Canticle eased the filly a trifle and she won with the boy looking back by eight lengths Macy Marcy was whipped out and iad aid all he could do to beat Al Fresco FrescoThe Fresco The judges having the gloom of the near T ast East in view did not like the sudden sparkle of Imps performance Trainer C E Brossmau Grossman was called into the stand Colonel Clark talked very plainly to Brossman Grossman and informed him that it was a lucky thing for him that the season was about to close closeThe closeted The two mile event was an eyeable seeable contest It was a real horse race from start to finish Lucid got away in the lead but immediately drooped back and after going the first half Swordsman took up the running His term of of leadership was of short duration however for passing the stand and beginning on the sec ¬ ond bond mile he stopped as if shot At this point Holden Olden let out a link on George Lee and the colt went to the front with ease About the same time that Holiien Holies made his move Burns started np with Moncreith Noncredit and McNicklo Canticle urged Lucid a trifle Down the backstretch the pace began to get a little stiffer Just be ¬ fore reaching the half mile ground the field with the exception of Swordsman and Sunburst was well bunched Moncreith Noncredit on the outside was shut off and Holden Olden seeing this and going to the front on the turn tried to steal away Lucid was hot after him though and for an instant at the head of the stretch was in front He could not hold the lead however and at the furlong post it was evident that George Lee would win He finished well in hand throe open lengths in front of Moncreith Noncredit who came strong nnderpunishmentand undernourishment boat Lucid three quarters of a length for the place On the stretch bend Holden Olden carried Lucid out and in terfered there're with him a little The colt is a moody oirt ort ud this may have caused him to sulk At anj nj rate he quit badly The betting on this race was lively and the ring was hit hard It had to pay out one two three just as the prices before the race indicated George Leo was heavily played and after his win there was a lot of grumbling about the colts last perform ¬ ance Vance He finished behind both Lucid and Swordsman in a mile and a half race last Friday FridayStarter Fridays Starter Dwyer made an unfortunate mistake in the second race His work has been very good luring the entire season The race was at a mile and ton went to the post They were a lot of bad actors but had Dwyer tried it is doubtful if he could have made a worse start After dancing around for fourteen minutes the ban h seemed to stand still for an instant and Dwyer touching off the machine yelled come on and threw his flag After taking the second look Dwyer aaw aw Molo Moo Czarowitz Carbonize and Sea Bob ¬ ber beer standing still The crowd howled its dis dais ¬ approval in no measured terms termsBoanerges trombone Boanerges Beaneries the 3 to 5 favorite for the race got away well and going to the front on the turn won all the way finishing by himself In a hard drive Prince Blazes beat Locust Blossom for the place placeThe placate The first race was at threequarters treasurers for two yearolds earls and Antiquary a castoff from T W Coulters stable won in a clever way from Mr Johnson The winner was a 4 to 1 chance and well played playedDave played Dave Waldo Weald had no trouble at all winning the fifth race He was a 3 to 5 shot and seemed to be in a soft spot Billy Mason headed him for an instant on the far turn but could not stand the pressure and when straightened away for home Dave Waldo Weald left his field and romped home the easiest kind of a winner winnerOld winner Old David seems to be himself again an l won the sixth race easily He was a 3 to 1 chance with Sligo Lingo II who was a 6 to 5 favorite The latter showed in front on the bend for home but when David was called on he galloped over Sligo Lingo and won as he chose
