NOTES OF THE TURF. Sydney Paget has written to San Francisco parties to negotiate the refusal of the foal of Magnot Hazel D. Tho latter is a full sister to Carrie C, the dam of Joan Beraud. Magnet is now at the Burlingame Stock Farm, and fourteen royally bred mares are in foal to him. These are by such famous sires as Hanover, Longfellow, Inverness, Bathampton, Hindoo and others. News was received here yesterday of tho death of the speedy Hermoso, which was bought out of a selling race by Billy Timmons nearly a year ago at Ingleside track. J. A. Gray folt the loss of tho Sir Modred colt keenly, but there seemed to bo a "hoodoo" on his now owner, for he never won a raco for him, nor J. Delong, in whose colors he ran last. San Francisco Examiner. Ruinart pulled up very lame at tho end of a gallop at Ingleside a few days ago. He had been working in tho most satisfactory way possible for some time and his going lame again was a great disappointment to his owners. C. H. C, Chicago. There was no show betting on Elsie Bramble in raco No. 10325.
