Joe Shelby got up in the last twenty yards. Colonel Eades ran impressively. Wilson was always outrun. OConnor threw the race away on Sea Robber. The horse seemed to be winning easily when he pulled him up, 3 Jockey Dean, who rode Mount Washington, was killed by the fall. The boy landed on his head, fracturing the skull at the base of the brain and died at 5:25 p. m. Scratched Dr. Work, 101; Shuttlecock, 101; Her Own, 109. Joe Shelby, place, 2 to 1; show, evens.
