THE BENNINGS PROGRAM. Less then two weeks are to pass by before the eastern racing campaign of 1899 will be inaugurated at Washington over the Bennings racetrack. The meeting there will begin Monday, April 3 and end Saturday, April 15. The management announces that up to and including April 1 supplemental entries will be received at the track for the Maiden Hurdle Race, the Maryland Hurdle Handicap, the Easter Steeple-chuse and the Bennings Steeplechase Handicap. The order of the running has also been arranged and the stake events will be decided as follows : April 3 Second race, the Arlington, for two-:year-olds, 1-2 mile; third race, the Easter -Steeplechase, for four-year-olds and upward, about two miles. April 5 Second race, the Potomac, for three-;yoar-olds, six furlongs; third race, Maiden Hurdle, for four year-olds and upward, one mile and a half, over six flights. April 8 Second race, the Congressional, for two-year-Tolds, 1-2 mile. April 11 Second race, the mount Vernon, for "two-year-old fillies, 1 2 mile. April 12 Third race, the Federal, for three-.year-olds, six and a half furlongs. April 13 Third race, Maryland Hurdle Handicap, for four-year-olds and upward, one mile and three-quarters, over seven flights. April 15 Second race, Second Washington Nursery, of ,000, for two-year-olds, 1-2 mile; third race, Bennings Steeplechase Handicap, for four-year-olds and upward, about two miles and a half; fourth race, the Washingtoa Handicap of 5 each, 0 forfeit, or only , if declared by April 1, with 00 added, one mile.
