NOTES OF THE TURF. Knight of the Thistle, b. h, six years old, by Rosebery— The Empress Maud, winner of the 5,000 Kempton Park Great Jubilee Stakes last Saturday, is the property of Mr. L. O. Appleby of this city and proprietor of the Ellerslie Stud Farm, Little Silver, N. J. Knight of the Thistle is trained by John Huggins, for many years in charge of Mr. Pierre Lorillards stable, and will run in the colors of Lord William Beresford during his turf career, after which he will take his place at the head of Mr. Applebys farm.— New York Herald. Ed Corrigan intends to ship six of his best horses east after the meeting closes here. The balance of his big stable of racers will be turned out xm his Sacramento farm until next fall. Following is the list of those to be shipped across the Rockies: Adolph Sprockets, Winifred, Golden Rule, Sardine, St. Anthony and Basseda.— San Francisco Examiner. The Coney Island Jockey Club has announced the following declarations from the Suburban Handicap, which will be run Saturday, June 17 : Scottish Chieftain, Voter, George Boyd, Whistling Con, Lambent. Miss Marion and Boney Boy. Manuel has gone lame and been shipped east for a let-up. It is to be hoped this sterling colt will recover and be able to return to the track a sound horse before the big fall stakes come up for decision. The first of the produce of Buck Massie it owned by Papinta, the dancer. The mare Fusil full sister to Horton, is the dam of this foal, which is a very small filly but handsome and racy looking. B.
