Winner— Ch, g, by Bishop— Guildura. Post 3 minutes. Start good. Won easing up; second and third were driving. Warren Point was cherry ripe and ran a cracking good race. He is a slow beginner and was sharply shut off at the start. Gray was in a tight pinch all he way down the back stretch, but luckily got through on the far turn. Pat Cleburne got a running start and showed a lot of speed. He quit, though as usual at the end. Rosa Clay suffered from bad handling. She was off poorly and took the long route. Elided came with a sensational rush at the end. Uarda plodded along at about the same gait all the way. Pitfall showed some speed, but not much. Overweights— Pat Cleburne, 3* pounds. Winner— B. g, by Blazes— Bettin Prince. Post 4 minutes. Start good. Won under the whip, but with something left. The next three were doing their best. Prince Blazes was a good horse today and well ridden. Gray had him in a good position all the way and was on the lookout all the time. Dalgretti was roughed about considerably in the stretch. But for this he would have given Prince Blazes a harder race. Monongah was the best horse, but Knight was not strong enough to help him any when the pinch came and rode a very weak finish. Phidias and Terrapin both showed speed. Necedah after being shut off and badly messed about on the first turn, ran a good race Scratched— 12426 Long Dandy, 8J; 12426 Oxnard, 102. Posts minutes. Start good. Won cleverly; second driving. Third, fourth and fifth were under keen pressure Sam McKeever ran a good race. He came through his field like a flash on the far turn, and drew away cleverly on call at the end. This colt is a good racehorse and cau beat better ones. Weight and everything taken into consideration Harry Nutters performance was an extra good one. Josephine B. and Andes both weakened at the end, Josephine B looked dangerous at the eighth post. She saved much ground by skinning the rail on the stretch turn. Martha Fox was coming very fast at the end. She would have been third in another stride. Mark her. Her race was good. Duty showed a sharp turn of speed. Andes two recent races in deep mud evidently took the edge off his speed. Scratched-124292Heroics. 96; 12340 Facade, 101. Overweights— Aunt Kerwick, 4t pounds. Winner— B. h, by Egmont— Jennie Doty. Post 3 minutes. Start perfect. Won cleverly; the next three were driving to the limit. Egbart was ridden skilfully. Hamilton placed him beautifully down the back stretch and never made a move until Hobart showed signs of distress. The horse was at his best today and came away like a geatleman, There was entirely too much use made of Hobart the first part of it. McNickle wore him out trying to make a runaway race of it and the colt stopped to a walk in the stretch. Boaey Boy ran better today from behind. Heretofore he has been raced infront and always tired. Today when called upon he moved up from the rear rapidly. Tne Devil did not like the track. He is good aud finished strong and will be likely to win when the track be comes fast. Brigade was always outrun and was beaten off at the end. Egbart, place, 3 to 1; show, 4 to 5. Boney Boy, place, 2 to 1; show, 7 to 10. TO. Winner— D B. c, by Barnes— Remnant. „ Post 5 minutes. Start good. Win cleverly at the end after an early drive: second and third driving to the limit. Hoods Brigade is more than an ordinary youngster. Holden was fortunate in getting him away well on his stride and made every post a winning one. The colt wanted to stop after rounding into the stretch, bat responded gamely under punishment, and was going away at the finish. On the strength of a very fast work-out, Pantland was heavily played He ran a cracking good race and should win soon. Maharajah was interfered with several times during the journey. He and Nina B. L. came together with a whack at the head of the stretch. The latter is a 1 small filly and the interference hart her most. Erla dOr ran a creditable race. She finished strong after being shut off on the turn. Overweights— Maharajah, 3 pounds. Hoods Brigade, place, evens; show, 1 to 2. Pantland, place, 2 to 1; show, 7 to 10. Third and fourth were driving to the limit. Pauline J. showed herself to be a good filly. She raced in behind Meddler to the stretch and then galloped over him as though he was tied. Bloss managed to get Meddler off in front and he ran a good race for five furlongs but quit badly at the end. Simon D. had bad racing luck. He waB shut off on the back stretch and obliged to go around on the turn Considering it was Theresa H.s first out she ran a cracking good race. Cuirassier, slow to get going, was running over horses at the finish. Lord Zeni had no speed and ran a bad race He can do better. Molo is best in mud. Treopia showed some speed but not much.
