Won cleverly under a hand ride; second, third and fourth were doing their b»st Considering the long delay at the post and tbe heavy weight carried, this race was an extremely good one. Senator Bland cime from behind with a rash and won like a good horse. He and Brigade were the most saved at the post. The latter is a useful horse the o days. Cheval dOr improves eacb time he start-*. Mark him for a muddy t rnc-k. Afamada ran her race at the post. She and Helens Pet wore each other oat in tin first half mile. Meddler broke every other time except the right one. He wheeled as the barrier went up, and getting left was bis own fault. Helens Pet can win a race waen placed right. Monorgah ran a very game race and just got up in time. Beaachampe finish on him was a sirong one. Native Sou was tit and ready and with a more vigorous ride at tbe end wonld have won. Carter did the best he conld but was not strong enough to help tbe geld-iug much when the pinch came. As the race was run Elkin should have walked in. He was miserably handled and sharply impeded at the eighth post. At that point be was rnnning much stronger than anything else in tbe race and had l.e got through could not have lost. Blue Lick made a strong bid in the stietch but tired at the end. Benamela ran a fair race. Phidias ai.d Pay the Fiddler did not run to their mark. Knight was not in a hurry to »et to tbe front and never made a move until the stretch was reached. He then called on Forst and passed those in front of him like a flash. Pope Leo ran a good race. So did Her Favor, wbo had speed to loan, but etopped as though hardly ready. Simon D. would possibly ba banefited by a let-up. Molo can win when placed where be belongs. Beauchamp broke flying and made every post a winning one. Murat had worked fast at Harlem with a lot of weight up and on the strength of it was heavily backed. Tenole had no excuses. He w as away well on his stride on the inside and had a clear path all the way. Little Singer closed stoutly and pressed Tenole hard for the place. Mary Kinseha can be marked for a muddy track. Elsie M. showed speed. Kings Guard waa interfered with at tbe start and never really got on his stride. The others are of no account. Scratched— 11836 Winslow, 105; 10646 Moch, 106. As the race was run The Winner waa the best. He had Chi-e beaten at the eighth poat but Beauchamp took matters too easy and threw the rsceaway It was a rank piece of carelessness.
