Winner B. c, by Preston-pans Beeswing. Post 6 minutes. Start fair. Won easily; second hand ridden; third and fourth were driving also. Prestome, as the race was run, wes the best. He got away well on his stride, always had clear Bailing, and seemed to like the sticky going. Phallas had bad racing Inck. He was sharply interfered with on the far turn and was forced into the worst going in the stretch. He finished gamely. Aeub had no excuses. Hesimply wentto pieces when the real racing began. Eschscholtzia took the shortest route and naturally saved ground throughout. Creation, heavily played, ran a poor race. Major Mansir was green at the post and refused to break with the other horses. Scratched 13006 Lovable, 115; 12878 Etta, 115. Prestomo, place, evens ; show, 1 to 2. Phallas, place, 9 to 5 ; show, 9 to 10. Azua, show, 4 to 5. SECOND RACE 1 Mile and 70 Yards. Winner Br. g, by King Galop Brooklet. Post 6 minutes. Start fair. Won under a stout pull; second and third cleverly. Branch reveled in the going and was never extended. He handled his weight and won like a good horse. Boanerges was unfortunate in the early stages of the race. G. W. Poole was at the post and had hold of the horses head when the barrier went up. He was on the inside and this naturally put him in a bd position on the first turn. Beauchamp could not get through and had to go around his field The boy, used Boanerges entirely too much down the backstretch, consequently he had nothing left to finish with. El Paso II. seemed to labor in the going. He got third place because be was much stronger than Leoncie. The latter was tired enough to lie down at the finish. Fred Bar could not untrack himself. Jersey Lad showed speed for half a mile. Scratched 131543Winslow, 98. Branch, place, evens; show, 1 to 3. Boanerges, place, 1 to 2; show, out. Dol Paso II., show, 7 to 10. 1 QIQ THIRD RACE 3-4 Mile. Winner B. h, by Albart Montvale. Post 18 minutes. Start good. Won easily at the end after an early drive for position. Albert-vale plodded along all the way and at the eighth pole got his horses as though they were tied. The long delay at the nost and the early pace ruinod Montgomerys chances. He was prominent in all breakaways. He went all to pieces after racing half a mile. Lucky Star finished stoutly and at one stage in tho stretch seemed to be winning. Meddler was the cause of the delay. He was given numerous chances, but would not break. Pauline J. did well as far as she went. She is a fair filly. Scratched 13150 Hanan. 100. Post 2 minutes. Start good. Won handily ; second ridden out. Third and fouith driving hard. Deering ran a fine race. Tho going seemed to bo made to his ordor. Ho Beems to be a good horse that runs inconsistently. Hobart did not havo his usual flash of speed. He has a . bad leg and it looked worse than ever today. A mile is too far for him at his best. Lime Water ran a good race and finished gamelv. The first two far outclassed the others. 1 Scratched 13065 Heroics, 96: 12809 Mayme M. M., 91. Overweights Defender IL, 2 pounds. Dick Furber te?ms to have regained his early Epring form. He wes at his best and went to the front on call like a gentleman. Inlook is a speedy and consistent youngster. Mark this about him. Ho cannot handle weight. Microscope on the extreme inside finished very strong. It was very close between him and Zeriba for .third place. They were so wide apart on the track that it was hard to judge between them. Zeriba ran out at the head of the stretch. Chief Farrell was played well, but ran a poor race. Winner B. h, by Sir Dixon Katy Did. Off at first break to a good start. Won cleverly; second driving to the limit; third eased up. Maceo, who is in grand form and revels in 1 be mud, waB in a soft spot. He galloped under a stout pull all the way and went to the front when Knight called on him. The horse was sold after the race to James Dunne for ,200. Molo ran gamely throughout. Overton punished him hard all through the stretch. There was a lot of jamming and interfering on the far turn-Moroni was the sufferer and it ruined whatever chance he had. Shortly after passing the half-milo post, Murat collapsed, and at about the same time Maceo made his run. The pair got Moroni in between them and the fence and he almost fell. Mathews was obliged to pull the horse, up to avoid going down. Mnekalonge was rnnnim very fast at the end. Scratched 13029 Pitfall, 102; 12963 Bon Jour, 104.
