Winner B. f, by Pardee Espana. Off at the first break to a good start. Won easily at the end after a hard drive; the next three were under keen pressure. Reseda was the most fit. She wan under a hard drive on the far turn, but stood it gamely and came on when tho others stopped. Edinborougb is probably better than those he met today. He was short and appeared to be a trifle lame in front. Watch him. He is a grand looker. Belle of the Glen ran a good race. She weakened under punishment at the end Aileau Wilson had bad racing luck. With clear sailing she would have been second and might have bad a chance to win. Fly Lotta acted insanely at the post, but after getting away well Bbowed some speed. Sea Rover boltd in the stretch. Just after passing the wire Russell R. stumbled and throw jockey Ransom. The boys feet got tangled in the hoises martingale and it looked bad for him for awhile. He displayed great gameness and hung on to the colts head until he stopped Scratched 13246 Niverna, 113; 12929 Cassadean, 107. Overweights Raveuswood, 2 pounds. Reseda, place, 4 to 5: show, 2 to 5. May Beach had spoed to loan and had she been pushed could have run about a second faster. This is a very speedy filly. The race was very unsatisfactory to the public and created a lot of noise. Meddler broke second and was twenty feet past the starter when be bolted. The horse is a rogue and Rutter or the starter could not be blamed for his actions. From cow on his entry will ba refused at Hawthorne. Sim W. ran a good honest race. Rouble had plenty of spoed but quit badly in the stretch. The race was a precession all the way. Winner Ch. f, by Aintreo Quick. Off at the first break to a good start. The first three were driving to the limit. Cherry Leaf was far the bast. Hamiltons ride on him was a nightmare He was on the outside of every horse on the first turn and went almost to the fence. Hamilton then pulled the hnrsa up and took to the inside. Down tho backstretch he was fortunate in not being shut off and at the three-eighths pole had the raco won. He then swung very wide on the stretch turn. Knight, on Greziella, took advantage of this and by skinning the rails saved a lot of ground. Hamilton never looked to the inside, but sat still and laughed at Vitatoe on Branch. This cost him the raco, as Graziella, on the inside, came with a tremendous rush in the last fifty yards. Cherry Leaf is fit and good and can win at once. Uarda showed a lot of speed, but quit. Monk Way-man was overweighted. Carl C. hardly ran his race. Einer was outclassed. Scratched 132902Benneville, 111 ; 13293jCarnoro, 105 ; 12908 Gold Fox, 97. Overweights Uarda, 21 pounds. Diana Fonso came away cleverly in the stretch. She is a good filly long overdue. Butter rode her with judgment. Considering that this was his first appearance at the prst Sum, Fnllen did nobly. He acted green but got away well, thea went to tho front, displaying fine steed and when the pinch came tried as hard ai he kaew how. This is a fine youngster ana deserves attention in any company. Merito ran a nice i-ace. Mont Eagle was ridden into a pocket in the stretch and was obliged to pull up. Commonwealth Attorney was badly interfered with, at the start. Mathews rated him in front with rare judgment and. took no chances whatever. He started to ride the colt at the head of the stretch and kept at-him until the end. It was well that he did, for Del Paso II. came with a terrific rush through: the last eighth. The latter horse is good now. Lucky Star about ran his race. He is purely a. sprinter. Dad Steele stopped badly. Samovar was short in ipeed and teems to be off. He was. hard ridden all the way. Scratched 1S272 Cherry Leaf, 117. Horace, place, evens; show, 2 to 5.
