Throughout he was under a stont pull. Lomond had a rough journey. He made np a lot of ground from the heed of the stretch home. Lovable is evidently a "morning glory." She has been backed several times but always fails. Moat Eagle got into a jam and had to pull up on the far turn. Azna quit badly iu the stretch. Postmaster Bailey is of no account and ran a no-account race. Barack, place, 7 to 10; show, 2 to 5. Lomond, place. 2 to 1: show, evens. Lovabl;, show 1 to 2. Plantain has baen improving with every race and in this race did his bc3t. He, however, was very tired and repeatedly bumped Jennie F. through the stretch. He carried her from the canter of the track elear to the inside rail. Nutt claimed fonl but the claim was ignored Jennie F. seems to do better with each race. Pitfall was hard ridden all the way. Joo Clark will improve from this race. Goose Liver was lucky in getting through dnrin; the early stages of the race but was sharply cut off on the far turn. He looked high in flesh, though, and had no chance to win. Scratched 13193 Winslow, 111; 13527 Moch, 112; 13723 Inuendo, 109; 13677 Clifton B ,112. Plantain, place, 4 to 1; show, 2 to 1. Winner Ch. f, by Creighton Nellie Bell. Off at the first break to a good start. Won easily; second and third doing their best. Canace is a good filly and is in excellent form and was ridden to perfection. Nutt took her back during the early stages of the journey and avoided the pace, which was very fast. He did not make a move until routdirg for home, and then passed those in front as though they were tied. Fausturo broke from behind flying. This is an improvement over hia last race. Maggie Davis, when she stopped, stopped ah ovr. Andes ran a fair race and Georgio a bad one. Tne early pace may have stopped the latter. Goebel was as fat as a hog and unfit to race. Winner B. f, by Inspector B. Snn Maid. Post 5 minutes. Startigood. Won cleverly; secocd under punishment; third eased at the end. Espionaga liked the sof z track and with just enough weight np to suit her tan a good race. Heretofore on a hard track the filly has shown signs of lameness, but she ran well and pulled up 1 sound today. Mizpah displayed faint-heertedues3 when the pinch came. When he passed Boanerges on the far turn it seemed that ho would surely win, but he could not stand the pressure. Boanerges had abundant speed, bat no endurance. The first three had the race to themselves all the way. Scratched 13188 Young Dixon, 101. Espionage, place, evens; show, out. Mizpah, place, out. Winner Br. f, by Juvtnal Bassinette. Off at the Brat break to a good start. Won hand ridden but with something left. The next two were doing their best. San Cecelia is a good, honest filly and ran right back to her last race. She held the race safe all the way. Zaza got away flying, took the short route and, considering the weight sho was carrying, ran a fine race. When Newcom saw he was beaten in the stretch he did hot punish the filly. Erla dOr ran below her notch. Mitten is always there knocking at the door. Winner B. f, by Bramble Princess Glenn I Off at the first break to a perfect start. The first three were driving to the limit. Princess Murphy came with a tremendous rush at tho end and just got up in time. Sho is a game filly that has been underrated. Al Lone awoke with a start and. after b-sing well backed, almost landod. The last time Al Lone and Arlington met the latter loafed in third, many lengths in front of her, she being absolutely last. Arlington was ridden by a capable jockey, though, that day. In this race the judges allowed Morrison, who is as bad as a now beginner, to ride, and he made an awful mess of it, getting the hone beaten off. Heroics, well handled, ran a good race. Tincraft had some speed, but not much. It was a false run race and must be thrown out for futnro form calculations. Scratched 12873 Rollins. 125; 13774 Lost Time, 121; 131933J. J. T., 121.
