Won easily; second in a mild drive ; the next three were hard at it. St. Ivor is a bg, handsome youngster of the "rough and ready" kind. He did not look fit, but ran a fine race and will improve from this. For snch a big colt, he is very active on hi3 feet. Martin Duke ran right to his mark. He has been underestimatei. Tildy Ann is game. Winkfield whipped her hard through the last three furlongs. Brown Thrush, after being shut off at the atart, ran a good race and finished very strongly. Rocklight i an in-and-outer of the worst kind. He got to and passed Tildy Ann in the stretch, but quit badly under punishment. Jeff waa bnmped about and had the worst kind of racing luck. With clear sailing he would have been a contender. Florence Anetia retired erly. Winner B. g, by Ormonde dOr The Princess. Post 10 minutes. Start good. Won driving to tho limit; second, third and fourth the same. Defender II. got away flying and always had clear sailing. He was tiring b idly at the end and barely lasted long enough. Synia ran a good game race. Lillian Reed is not much. She cams strongly, thongh, at the end and nipped Cheesemite out of third place in the last stride. The latter had no excuses. She ia simply of little account as a racing tool. Rosa Masso and J. J. T. both ran better races than any of tbos that finished in front of them. Both had bad racing luck and their races must be thrown out. There was much bumping and interfering throughout, and Marie Nixon was almost thrown on the far turn. Scratched 13842 Annowao, 108; 18065 Seattle, 107; 138532 Bine Lick, 108; 13863 Hanan, 103. Winner B. c, by Morello Bonnie Leaf. Off at the first break to a perfect start Won easily; second clevarly ; third and fourth driving. Richard J. is certainly a sprinter of high class, aud a weight carrier too. He gillopad in behind Algareta in the first half and then went to the front on call. His race was a grand one considering tho condition of the track which was not fast. The weight anchored Algareta. She sot a terrific pace bnt tired badly at tbo end. The chances aro the filly would have run a hotter race if Beauchamp baa not taken her to the front. Still, with weight up, she can not beat Richard J. Benneville was baoly shut off at the half mile ground and obliged to pnll almoat to a stand-still. Considering this ho ran a grand race and would have been a keen contender with clear sailing. Goebel was catching Algareta fast at the finish. Mark him. He is about resdy. Richard J., place, out. Benneville, place, 6 to 5; Bhow, out. Algareta, place, out. Goobjl, show, out. He got a flying start and was never extended. Ibe-chanoas are that Lew Hopper would have won bad ho.not been interfered with and got an even break. The old horse was alow to get in motion and got sharply cut off on the first turn. ie was also bumped and joatled numerous times down the backatretch. The last quarter of a mile was the only time he had clear sailing. Ho Is ready and can win at once in his class. Bamivel ran a fair race and Pitfall a good one. The latter had ab ut as rough a journey as Lew Hopper. Inere-was a general closing up in the last furlong. Missioner was short and stopped before going a half mile Amelia Fonio was practically left at the pist. Scratched 13814 Elidad, 108; 138793Clifton B 108; 13482 Ramona, 105. The first five were so close-together that a good sized blanket would have covered them. Georga H. Kotcham, after much interference, ran a good game race. McCleary had the race won twenty yards out but hung at the end. Roger B. had clear sailing and no excuses. There was an ugly loobicg jam on the first turn and it was a miracle that no horse fell. Nutt was obliged to pull Fair Deceiver to a standstill to keep from going down. Arlington ran well for about a half mile aud then felt back. Goose Liver is improving and ready to win.
