Won driving to the limit; second, third end fourth were also under keen pressure. Satan won simply becsuse he outgamed Guesie Fay. The latter : is a very speedy filly, bat is a non-stayer. She will be hard to beat at four and one-half furlongs. ; In this rcce she was very badly ridden. Satan was fortunate in getting away well and ran a game race. He was long overdue. In Debt ran to the mark. Tildy Ann did not. She had no : excuses either. Beaucbamp got her away second and she met with no bad racing luck. There was an ugly looking jam at the half mile ground and Fly Lotta cot a bad fall. Jockey Boland was badly hurt. The field was so largo that the race was hardly a truly rnn one. Winner B g, by Lisbon Aala Lala. Off at the first break to a good start. Won cleverly at the end after a hard early drive. Baratatia was miserably ridden and had ha not been far the best he could not have won. Burns had the gelding in and out and all over the track and rode him like a beginner. Hanlight appeared to be winning at the head of the stretch but quit badly under pressure at the end. Simon D. seemed stiff and sore and ran below expectations. He will do better on a muddy track. Countess Irma quit at the end. It was a very ordinary lot. Scratched 13851 Double Dummy, 104; 14320 Necedah, 102. Barataria, place, evens; show, out. Hanlight, place, 21 to 1; show, 3 to 5. Winner Ch. f, by Silver Fox Tooique. Post 6 minute-". Start straggling, The first four were doing their best. Silver Fizz ran a crackiug good raca and won because best. The filly was off poorly and had a rough journey but stood it like an aristocrat. Crowhurst made his run too soon with Oconee. She was in a good position on the torn but Crowharst in his effort to get through bamped into and almost threw Erla dOr. The latter would have been a keen contender bat for this. Wig was comiDg fast under punishment in the stretch, but for some unknown reason Burns let up on him. Trne Fit stopped in a stride at the head of the stretch. Lady Curzon can do better. Highland Lad had no chance when the barrier went up. Corrected weights Wig, 106. Silver Fizz, place. 1 to 3; Ehow, out. Oconee, place, 5 to 1: show, 2 to 1. Erla dOr, Ehow, 6 to 5. He had the most speed tnd spreadeagled hiB field. Golden Rod got second place about as easily as Intriguer won. Fintan ran a fair race. Tony Licalzi did well from a poor beginning.
