Won driving and staggering and out to tho last ounce; second and third were driving also. Dr. Nembula barely lasted long enough to win. He is a speedy horse but is not a stayer. On him Burns rode a fine race especially at the finish when he fairly lifted tha doctor home. Bert Davis perhaps should have won. Vititoe was slow in drawing his whip and let Burns outfinish him. Silver Tone is a quitter. When anythine heads him he seems to lose heart. Rnbel ran a good race. The race was always between the first four. Sohanken was bumped, badly interfered with and carried wide on the fitst turn. Winner Ch. f, by Flambsau Fanny Lewis. Off at the first break to a good start. The first two were driving to the limit. It was a very pretty contest and Vititoe turned the tables on Burns. He rode like a demon and in fact out-finished Burns. The latter seemed to have the better of it below the sixteenth post and mada thn mistake of being over-confident. Flamora is a very speedy filly and is also a stayer. Capron finished very strongly. Maud Wallace was right there all the way and stood the pressure at the end like a game filly. Man of Honor ran to his mark but Merito did not. The latter ssemod dull on Bpeed. 8he was all tangled up at the start though and could never get straightened out. Judging from this race St. Ivor is of little account. This time stamps a new track record. Overweights Maydine, 5 ponnds; Maud Wallace, 5; Mattie Bazar, 1. Won cleverly; second whipped 1 ont; third eased at the end. Algareta took the short route, was lucky and ran one of her best races. She is in fins form, and as the season is in her favor, she deserves attention in any company. Montgomery got a flying start, showed fine speed but quit whan Algareta caught him. As the race was run Macy ehould have finished closer up. He seemed to be running easily sing the half mils post and was in a good positioa. After this point, however, he was badly 1 interfered with and almost fell to his knees The horse recovered qnickly and finished stoutly. The Lady in Blue ran to the mark. Alleviates race was a. disappointment. Little Gavroache was given several chances but refused to break. Overweights Macy, 4 Donnds. Algareta, placo, 3 to 5; show, out. The next two were driving hard. Gypceiver fenced well and was ridden perfectly. Hueston rated him cleverly in front, was lucky to avoid interference and made his run at the right time. Clifton B. was under pressure all the way. He is a slow beginnor, but possessed much stamina and finished very strongly. It web a Very herd rare to pet reliable form from. There was so much falling and interferfneo that it was impossible for it to be other than a fakely run onp. Three Forks was almost the only borse not intprfeied with. Bellamy was jammed into the wine of one of the hurdles and ceme very rear filling. In tle falls luckily no one was seriously hurt. Stewart broke his collar bone, fco did Welch. Ray end Cummings Royce escared. uninjured. Minor D., Nobilis and Czarowitz fell at the water jump. My Vnlentine fell at the sixth, and Cbenier at the lest. The latter was queerly ridden. It looked like Royce tried to force Gypceiver out of the course just before they came to-the seventh jump. St. Brandon pulled up very lame. Royce was ruled, off for his ride on Chenier. Winner B. g, by Dnnboyno Annie Layne. Post4minntes. Strrtfair. The first two were driving to the limit. CroeBus ran an extraordinarily game race and Hamilton pntnp a powerful finish on him. The horse felt- rod once in the stretch, but came on gain under pressure. As the race was run Jackanapes should have won. Barns tried to draw the finish fine and threw the race away. When Croesus faltered Jackanapes passed him, and then Burns became careless. He bad Jackanapes, in a good position and was close to the rail all the way. Hamiltons finish was much stronger than the one he rode on tho same horse Saturday at Harlem. Knight perhaps laid too far out of it with Fatherland. Plantain has probably staled. Then he movandd np with a rnsh and stole the rail away from the other boys. It was a skillful piece of riding and a lot of luck was connected with it. When Bishop Reed quit, he quit ail over.
