He is a fine looking horse and was in a soft spot. Samlet ran a good race. After the start he was slightly interfered with but not enough to make any difference in the result. Calchas, with a big pull in the weights, ran a good rece Brown Dick stopped to a walk at the end. He is a bad horse. It was a bad lot all around. George Arnold, plBce, evens; show, 1 to 2. He acted badly and was much used at the post, but this did not seem to hurt him in the least. The youngster is almost a perfect racing machine. Hagerdon got a flying start and showed a fine turn of speed. Tarhill had no excuses. Florizar is a slow beginner, but finished very fast. The Monk will do. He was right there. Won very easily; second whipped out. The other two were driving to the limit. Carnero is in rare form and ran a grand race. He broke the record and could have run much faster had he been pushed out. As it was Barns was easing him up in the last twenty yards Rafafllo ran an excellent race, but was simply not fast enough to beat Carnero. He swerved under punishment in the stretch. Cherry Leaf was hardly ready. This race will sharpen him up. Sam Lazarus Esq., set a terrific pace. He is a very fast colt. Overweigots Eafaello, 31 pounds. Carnero, place, out. She is a fairly good filly that improves with evory race. Dinornis ran a far better race than the winner. He was badly interfered with at the start and wae generally roughly treated, but came very strong at the finish. Man of Honor was poorly handled and got into a bad pocket at the head of the stretch.
