He brought the old horse up with a ruth through the stretch and clearly cutfinished Dugan. As the race was run Antiquary was the best. He was u much used racing with Little Jack Horner and Dugan was unable to kesp him straight in the ti run home. This ccst the colt a lot of grrnnd a? he bore out and finished on the extreme outside. Jim Gore II. closed like a whirlwind. Glenmoyne made" up a lot of ground in the Btretch. Verify was at his bast, reveled in the going and spread-eagled his field. All Vititoe I had to do was to sit still and hold the geldings head up. Sam Lazarus Esq. got away poorly J and rau a cracking good race. He is a good mud runner but was outclassed by the winner. Alice Tumor and Bennevilla both finished strongly under punishment. H. S. Tobacco may have been short. He had a hit of epood but could only carry it about half a mile. He quit badly. The others were just fillers in. Won easily; second handily; third ridden out. John Baker is a mud horse of high degree. Ho went to the front shortly after the start and was nevf r in trouble, Rose rode a good race on John Baker. He rated him cleverly in front and always bad a good, stout hold of his head. Macy, with a lot the bast of the weights, ran only a fair race. He teemed to have a winning chance on the far turn when he was running eesily. but when called on he had nothing lefc. Joly Roger was always beaten off. Kings Highway made ono bid and then died away. Won after a long, hard drive ; second and third driving hard also. It waB a very tired lot at the finish. At the head .of tho stretch there was a lot of crowding without any especial offender. On the turn Goodrich and J. H. C. both carried Joo Shelby out. Jones, on the latter, bnmped into and almost threw Goodrich. This caused Goodrich to sulk and perhaps cost him the race. No claim of foal was made and the jadgas took no . n jtico of the interference. Joo Shelby ran a good, gsmo race. So did Pate Kitchen. Hosi and J.iH. C. were both much used early and quit badly when the pinch came. Victorine pulled up lame.
