NOTES OF THE TURF. Mars Cassiday is in receipt of a letter from George Hendrie, tendering him the position of starter on the Canadian circuit tracks again next season, and assuring him that he will also probably ba made starter at the Toronto and Hamilton meetings. The letter conveys the information that there will bs a retura to an open betting riDg on the Canadian circuit tracks. M. F. Dwyer, who is stopping at bis cottage at the Gravesand track, is improving slowly but surely in health. He watches the exercise gallops of his hors;s evarr morning, and gives their care his personal attention. Ha will not go to Florida this winter unless ho is driven away by severe weather. Morning Telegraph. Reports from tho Coney Island Jockay Club, Brooklyn Jockey Club and Brighton Beach Racing Association are to the effect that a greater number of entries will be received this year in their stake events than ever before. The three-year-old fixtures especially promise to fill exceedingly well. Clerk cf the Course H. G. Crickmore, of the Westchester Racing Association, is busily engaged on his stakes for next season. There will be a few changes made in the conditions, official announcement of which will be made early next month. Colonel J. J. Eakins has great hopes that Judge Tarvin, for which he paid ,003 last spring, will Btand training next reason. Tke Judge has been treated for the trouble that beset him last season, and appears to have gotten entirely rid of it. Jockey Boland is under engagement to John McCafferty until January 1 only, but McCaffer-ty haB been notified by Charles Hughes, trainer for C. H. Smith, that ha can ksep the boy until bis stable has need of his services. After hiB tumble from Fred Perkins in the jumping race at New OrleanB yesterday jockey Pierce was suspended pending an investigation of his ridiug in this and other races. La Grange was badly cut down the last time he facd the startar, and trainer McDaniels has but little hopes of getting him to the poet again before nexc spring. Jockey Joe Weber has been indefinitely suspended by the Califcrnia Jockey Club for suspicions rides on Loving Cap and King Carnival.
