Winner— Br. c, by Bermuda— Queen Isabella. Went to post at 2:30. At post 4 miuute6. Start good. The first three were driving to the limit. Bermuda Prince was cleverly ridden and under light weight ran a good game race. Espionage was perhaps the best. She had bad luck early and in the last half mile made up much ground and finished with a tremendous rush. Honeywood tired in the last few strides, and was barely beaten at the ena for second place. Chappaqua was hemmed in on the rail from the three furlong post home. With clear sailing lie would have been hard to beat. Arthur Behan and Crosby wore each other out in the first part of the race. Shrove Tuesday was prominent for a while down the backstretch, but when she stopped she stopped all over. Scratched— 18823 Goldone, 97. Overweights— Arthur Behan, 2 pounds; Astor. 14. Winner— B. c. by Golden Garter— Nonage. Went to post at 3:00. At post 11 minutes. Start fair. Won handily; second whipped out. The next five were closely bunched and driving to the limit. Golden Age is a big, handsome colt and seems to be Silverdales superior in every way. He was well ridden by Bullman and seemed to have plenty left at the finish. Silverdale was tangled up to a certain extent at the start, but got straightened away quickly, took the shortest route and no excuse can be offered for his defeat. Small Jack ran a cracking good race. He got into a jam at the start and was last passing the half-mile post, then he made up a lot of ground and closed stoutly at the end. Mark him for early action in with his own kind. Tenny Belle is a fast filly and she showed a fine turn of speed, but stopped badly in the last furlong. Kid Cox had bad luck and never got into his stride until the final furlong, then he finished stoutly. Winner— B. f, by Kingston— Seville. Went to post at 3 -.15. At post 6 minutes. Start good. Won cleverly ; second and third driving hard. The Lady was the best, took the longest route, and ran a high-class race. Martin had no chance whatever to get through on the inside on the first turn, and used good judgment by taking the filly to the outside. He rated her cleverly down the backstretch and never made a move until straightened away for home, then The Lady slowly but surely wore The Sprites long lead down and at the end was going away. Mathews, on The Sprite, wasted considerable time, and perhaps threw the race away, by looking back ali through the stretch. Larkspur ran a good, game race, being under punishment through the last three furlongs. Anthracite showed speed and ran a fairly good race. Triaditza never could get near the front, and is not in her best form. Scarlet Lily worked faster than the race was run, and is evidently a "morning glory." Scratched 1x853 Lady Elite, 117; 18670- Princess Thyra, 117. The Lady, place. 2 to 1 ; show, evens. The Sprite, place, evens; show, 1 to 2. Larkspur, show, 1 to 5. Winner— Ch. c, by Top Gallant— Addie C. II. Went to post at 1 :15. At post H minutes. Start poor. Won easily ; the next three were under keen pressure. Sidney Lucas was the best and although interfered with numerous times, made his field look cheap. Bullman got shut off repeatedly and the colt had to be a lot the best to win as he did. Alcedo was also interfered with often, was also badly ridden and ran a smashing, good race himself, finishing like a stake horse. Eva Rice showed the most speed, but in the final quarter tired badly and barely lasted long enough to get third place. The weight seemed to anchor Fly by Night, who was well ridden, had no excuses and tired in the stretch. Tulla Fonso iiad no chance from where she got away, but she showed a fine turn of speed and is in winning Sidney Lucas, place. 8 to 5 : show, 1 to 5. Alcedo, place, 6 to 5 ; show, 1 to 2. May Beach [fl in rarely good form, and Caywood rides her to perfection. I He rated the filly cleverly in front in this race, and when he got ready in the stretch came away without an effort. Algareta ran another good, game, honest race, finishing stoutly under pressure. This filly has been badly managed and placed all the season. Sly, perhaps, has had too much of it. She did not show her usual flash of speed at the end and wobbled under punishment. Sharp Bird is a cracking good maiden. He was off poorly, but raced up to the leaders early, and was right there all the way and hung on gamely in the closing drive. Scratched-18823 Yellow Tail, 113 ; 18090iLimelight, 99. Winner— B. f, by Meddler— Little Lady II. Went to post at 5 :20. Off at the first break to a good start. Won well in hand ; second, third and fourth were under full sail. Lady Meddlesome got away full in her stride, was lucky and never fully extended. Buchanan took her back a trifle on the far turn but when Handnress got up to him he easily drew away again. Scales ran a good race and under a hand ride at the end closed stoutly. Cosmoosey had all the bad luck in the race but stood it gamely and ran as though he was in his best form. Patroon was dull of speed early but in the final quarter he made up much ground. Haudpress is a coward. Limerick was pinched off on the stretch turn and this ruined whatever chance he had. Russell R. could not run fast enough to keep warm. Red Pirate also had an attack of the slows. Scratched— 18612Free Hand. 97: 187622Moroni, 108. Overweights -Limerick, 1 pounds.
