Won handily at the end after an early drive: second and third driven out. Bouey Boy was at his best, profited by a t,ood ride and from the bead of the stretch home came with a tremendous rush. Bullmaut ride was certainly a finished one and the boy came in for quite a round of applause. Eva Rice had no excuses and ran her very best. Walsh shot her to the front after passing the half mile ground and on the far turn the mare appeared all over a winner, hut she could not stall off Boney Boys rush at the end. Greatiaud ran a good honest race. Andes had a very rough journey, and in future calculations this race should he thrown out. The route was too far for Algareta. Weut to post at 3:05. At post 14 minutes. Start good. Won easily: second, third, fourth and fifth driving to the limit Sly is in fine form, was well ridden and ran a high class race. She hung to May Beach like a leech in the first part of the race, thereby racing the Texas-bred mare into submission. May Beach acted a triHe sore at the post, and the long delay hurt her. Still she showed her usual speed and did all that waB expected of her. John Yerkes ran a good race and would have been second in a few more strides. Livadia showed a lot of speed. Georgie ran a dull race. Pope Leo anil Abe Furst were outclassed. Still the latter showed quite a lot of speed. Scratched— 18687 Lena Williams, 112. Overweights— John Yerkes, 14 pounds. Kid Cox got away fully in his stride, showed the most speed and was never fully extended He is a good gelding and was well ridden. Princess Tatyana finished like a scaled deer, and from the eighth post made up a lot of ground. Grandon closed stoutly ai d outgamed Menace for third place. Curd Gil lock was raced into subjection trying to race Kid Cox out in the the first part of the contest and tired badly when the pinch came. Leo Newell sot away in a tangle and never got fully straightened out. Throw his race out. The colt seemed to falter for an instaLt at the sixteenth post, but when Winkfield shook him up he came away finely. Arthur Behan had no excuses and did his best. Russell R. could not handle the weight, but ran to his mark. Lake Mills crowded Barney F. on the far turn, causing the latter to fall. Southard wa- bidly -haken up, but not seriously injured. Red Pirate finished stoutly. Semper Eartem was pinched off at the start and dropped far back going down the back-tretch but in the final quarter she made up a lot of groui.d and aided by better racing luck would have been a keen contender. Morris is a very speeds horse and ran the fastest mile of the present meeting. Winkfield made every post a winning one. and made no mistakes. Tappan did his best. Bullman made a strong bid at the head of the stretch and for an instant seemed likely to be a winner, but in the last twenty yards the gelding hung a trifle. High Jinks was much used up in trying to catch John A. Morris in the first part of the race, and quit in the stretch. Lady Med dlesome was ridden all over the track. Onomastus was giving away too much weight and found the pace too hot to suit him. The winner was run up 00 over his entered price of 00, but wan retained. W. P. Magrane was the ruuner up.
