BROOKLYN JOCKEY CLUB STAKES STAKESIn In the advertising department of this issue Secretary Hugh D Mclntyre of the Brooklyn Jockey Club presents the conditions of a num ¬ ber of rich stakes to close August 15 They are the moat important events offered annually by the Brooklyn Jockey Club and are to be run in 1902 and 1903 by horses that are now yearlings Owners in the west should not be niggardly in patronizing these very valuable stakes for the mere fact that a youngster is well engaged in the leading races of any year adds immensely to his value before he has ever been tried out and in the event of his proving to be a good one makes him worth a fortune in these days of high prices for winning performers of high promise Consideration of their varying con ¬ ditions is earnestly commended to all owners
