ENGLISH HANDICAPS. American owned horses engaged in the great English autumn handicaps have been well taken care of in apportionment of weights, and if any of them win it will not be because they have been favored by the handicapper. WEIGHTS FOB CESABB WITCH. The Cesarewitch, which is run at Newmarket on Wednesday, October 16, is at two miles two furlongs and thirty-five yards. The topweight is Mr. George Edwards four-year-old Santoi, winner of the Ascot cup, which is assigned 133 pounds. Next come Monsieur Ephrussis French bred four-year-old Codoman with 131 pounds, and Mr. T. Eincaids four-year-old Epsom Lad, winner of the two 10,000 races of the season, with 128. Sidus was made favorite at 100 to 6 in the first days bet-ting, when Jolly Tar was supported at 100 to 3 and Semper Yigilans at 50 to 1. Santoi also heads the long list one hundred and thirty-four for the Cambridgeshire, which is at one mile and 237 yards, and is scheduled for Wednesday, Octobor 30, at Newmarket. Although lacking in the traditional importance of either the Cesarewitch or Cambridgeshire, the most valuable of the English Fall Handicaps is the 0,000 Duke of York Stakes, run at Kempton Park on Saturday, October 12.
