Ordnung is a quick beginner, in brilliant form and probably was best in the going without his advantage at the start and at the distance. Autolight, however, broke flat-footed several lengths behind and closed a tremendous gap. Articulate failed to take advantage of the best start and failed to stay in the stretch drive. Botany got off running and is very speedy in mud and a fine looker, but he was lucky to beat Sol Lich-ten stein. The latter broke flat footed and was crossed by the winner and knocked back by Phyllis then made up a tremendous gap in the last three-eighths, Phyllis showed speed and lasted out under a vigorous finish. Dave Bommers finished strongly. Sir Lewis was given a bad looking ride. He wants a longer route anyway. W ater Scratch got off badly. Overweights Phyllis, 2 pounds. Botany, show. 7 to 10.
