Legation avoided the early pace, came fast under pressure in the stretch and just got up in time. Great Star ran a good race, but his rider almost fell off in the stretch. Lillie Long closed up fast in the stretch run. Certain tired under the weight. Pamplona ran a winning race from where he got. off. Poyntz tired after showing early speed. Custus began slowly and was cut off on the first turn, then went around his field fast and won in a vigorous drive. Dr. Clark ran a good race throughout, but was all out at the end. Also Ran II. set a fast pace, but swung wide when turning for home and bore out in the stretch run. Morris Volmer ran an extra good race and finished going very fast. Henry of Trastamare was going fast at the end. Countess Clara went well for a half. Maghoni ran a bad race. Mag Nolin did not get to going well until she went a quarter, then closed up ground but Bell swung her wide into the stretch and lost fully five lengths in turning for home. Perla showed early speed, but tired. Kilo ran a dull race and can do better. Dr. Cart-ledge ran well from a bad beginning. Helen Print began slowly, but came with a terrific burst of speed when she got clear going in the stretch, passed the leaders in the last fifty yards and was going away at the end. Croix dOr went well throughout and seemed to have the race won until Helen Print drew up. Frank Bell did his best and had no mishaps. Santa Ventura broke behind the field and rushed to the front in a hurry, but tired. Hilee seems to have lost his form. Bridge tired. Evea G. did not display great speed at any part of the race. . Jack Young was hustled all the way and was in close quarters through the stretch but butgamed the others in the last fifty yards. De Reszke ran in much improved form and was was always a keen contender and showed a tremendous burst of speed in the stretch Pourquoi Pas ran well throughout and stuck to her work gamely in the stretch. Kenova was cut off on the first two turns and lost much ground, but closed up fast In the stretch and would probably have won with an even break. Kansas Lily ran poorly. Jack Young, show, 1 to 3.
