COLES JOKE ON FULLER. Theodore Coles gave J. W. Fuller, the Texas horseman, w ho asrna Tokalon. First Premium and other good ones, an unpleasant half hour a few mornings ago. Superintendent GomMU has a number of officers at Kelmont Park to sec that the dockers are kept away from the grounds and one of these officers played an important part in Coles lit lie joke. The Virginian was on the track when Fuller put in an appearance and instead of the usual greeting Coles said, when he saw hiin: "How did you get here? I thought dockers were barred at Belmont." A vigilant officer overheard the remark, which, as a inaiter of fact, was intended more for him than it was for Fuller. He at MM swooped down an the unsuspecting man from Texas and giullly wanted to know what be was doing on the track. "Who do you work for." be asked. "Why, 1 work for a man named 1iiller." answered the turfman laughingly. "Vou do. eh." said the officer. "Well, well see about that. You come with me to Fullers Stable and Ill find out about it. You fellows are pretty fresh around here, and youll have to shew me." . It was some distance to the Fuller barn, and the horseman was about tired of the joke. He tried to straighten matters out with the officer, but there was nothing doing. In the meantime Coles had walked away, as though Fullers plight in no way interested him. Fuller was n.arclied all the way to his own stable before the officer was convinced that he had not made an kansnrtaat capture. Now Fuller is on the still huut for Theodore t oles.
