Constantia showed superior speed for a half and quit badly at the end. Fire »pal ran w«ll. ldalo Hosed a big gap in the stretch. Durable was caught in a jam soon after the start, loin McAfee had a rough trip. Jim Hill lacked speed anil ran poorly. May liowe was away poorly and never a serious contender. Pete Vinegar was badly ridden and came with a belated rush after being allowed to trail far back in the early stages. Full of Fun failed to show much sjieed through the first turn of the course, but moved up fast near the end and took third place in the final strides. Coal Black Lady ran good race and fenced well. Onyx II. quit badly after going one turn of the course. Merry Maker fell lame and was pulled up. Bitter Sir set a stiff pace for the first half, but tired and t had to do hi« best to dispose of Lorimer. The latter, excessively used in the early stages in an effort to 1 ace Bitter Sir into exhaustion, tired in the final drive. Dick Rose ran a good race and was prominent for the first half. Orlando! finished fast from a slow beginning. Balla ran poorly and was a distant nailer most of the way. Ethel Carr tTus forced to go wide throughout. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Pasadena suffered from interference and was sharply crowded and shuffled back on the first turn, had to stand considerable bumping for the next half from Plantiand, but moved up and secured clear sailing on 1 the stretch turn, wore down Old Honesty after a slight shaking up and outstayed Alma Dufour in the closing drive. Alma Dnfour. away slowly, trailed the others for the first three-quarters, then moved up fast through the stretch and was gaining on the winner near the end. Colloquy showed the most early speed and held 011 gamely after tiring. First Premium began slowly and was a distant trailer for a half, then came with a tremendous rush and finished resolutely. Lens, away in a tangle, had to be hard ridden for the la-si three fi.rlongs and ran a good race, but tired in the stretch. Prince Ahmed acted badiy at the post am! wheeled at the start, then displayed high speed in racing into a contending position in the first three. luilongs, but quit in the last quarter. Lady Oakland ran sluggishly throughout. Rebounder can do much better. Tenuis ran away while going to the post and ran into the stable yard. The others were sent away without him.
