Miss Charit.v ran in prominent and game con-i nion throughout. Steel Blue, shuffled to the rear at the start, closed a gap and was a fast going and close up fourth. Lady Bache made up much ground from a bad start. Mrs. Nugent, nearly left, dosed .•in immense gap. Old Daddy showed early speed. Leonardsdale ran a bad race. Metlakatla, close up in the early running, finished fastest of all. but was pocketed through the stretch and was liest. George Kilborn ran in forward and persistent pursuit throughout. Alta Spa was excessively used to make the pace and tired in the last few strides under a bad ride. I en less Lass, away badly, closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Botanist was outpaced all the way and never dangerous. Cadichon, out of place in sprints, went well. Marian Casey showed earlv speed and can do better.
