FALSE RUMORS STIR AQUEDUCTS PATRONS New York April IS A wild rumor was circu ¬ lated early at Aqueduct today that arrests would be made in the ring during the afternoon The tip came from the Albany correspondent of a local paper and was purported to have the backing o Governor Hughes The report turned out to be a canard but it gave three or four reporters of the paper1 that bad the tip a half holiday to cover the expected raids in sensational style styleRacing Racing men generally and especially those who have borne the brunt of the fight against the sport in the senate chamber believe that the Agnew Hart bills are no longer a real live issue as the governor apparently s losing ground daily while some of the strongest of the metropolitan news ¬ papers are making a more determined fight now than at any time during the campaign When Sol LIch tenstein the poohbah of the ring walked into the clubhouse balcony after the firstrace the report was started that he bad tired of the new order ot things in the ring and had quit But It turned ont that Sol was only on a visit to the more aristocratic section during the running of the steeplechase on which he did not book
