BLUE BONNETS CROWDED TO FULL CAPACITY CAPACITYReidmoore Reidmoore Wins the Mount Royal Handicap in Easy Fashion Extension Under Consideration Montreal Que June 13 Racing at Blue Bonnets this afternoon reminded one of the big days on the metropolitan courses A crowd of 10000 turned out to witness the si orr and in the vast throng were the elite of Canadian society The clubhouse veran ¬ das and spacious lawns were crowded while stand ¬ ing room in the grandstand was at a premium It was by far the largest crowd that ever witnessed a running race in Montreal Earl Grey attended in state stateRacing Racing conditions could not have been Improved ou the weather being just warm enough to be pleas ¬ ant while the track was at its best A highclass program of seven races was provided and it had as features the Mount Royal Handicap at one mile and a quarter the Prince of Wales Steeple ¬ chase Handicap over the twomile and a half course and the Interprovincial purse which called for Canadian breds A majority of the races produced keen finishes the winners in four being forced to stand long hard drives to prevail by small margin Three favorites won the successful choices being Harcourt FlossWilliam Reidmoore and Mill on thor Floss William Shields furnished the winner in the Mt Royal Handicap in Reidmoore which came from behind in the stretch and won in a canter The Prince of Wales Steeplechase furnished a driving finish between Touchwood and Essex II in which the former proved gamest and won by a scant length Touchwood fenced poorly losing ground at several of the jumps At the tpnth and eighteenth fences he went to Ids knees and all but unseated his rider Saffel was on his horses neck several times during the race but In some manner managed to scramble back into the saddle Agent and The Knight coupled as the Mtennan entry were favorite Agent ran out of the course at the eighth jump and The Knight fell at the eighteenth jump and fractured ills off forearm He was destroyed destroyedMill Mill on the Floss made her opponents look cheap in the Interprovincial purse winning off by her ¬ self lengthsThe by eight lengths The horsemen racing here presented a petition to the executive committee of the club asking that the meeting at Blue Bonnets be extended to and in ¬ cluding July 4 As yet nothing definite has been decided upon in the matter but it has been taken under consideration Final decision will probably be held up until Secretary John Bodeu returns from New York YorkApplications Applications for stable room keep pouring in Today general manager John F Ryan received tele ¬ grams from John E Madden P T Clilnn James McCormick and S C Hildreth asking for stable room and they will ship here provided the meeting Is extended
