REFINING THE STUDS IN KENTUCKY It would be a good ideu if then could 1 u culled from the different breeding farms in Kentucky about a thousand head of thoroughbreds to be sold Jiere this fall They would go all over the southern and western country and would probably never be heard from again as far as taking part in the breeding industry of Kentucky or racing on the most Important tracks If breeders would eliminate tli undesirable stock from their studs and breed only the best they would be far better off SIucli of this class of stock Is being sold now and if a large number of them could be gotten rid of this fall the stock would be more valuable and the de ¬ mand lu the future much greater Breeders greaterBreeders arc busy preparing the yearlings they will send to Now York to l e sold In the Sep ¬ tember sales There will not be as miiuy offered this year as usual Itut those that will be sent on will be the cream of the different breeding estab ¬ lishments Out of one hundred and seventyfive year ¬ lings at McGrithlana Stud less than fifty will be suJtl In the September sales Thoroughbred Rec ¬ ord
