EMPIRE CITY TRACK MAKING READY READYXew Xew York August 7 Work has been going on at the Kmpire City track for several days Tlie track will be put in good shape immediately while other improvements will be made Tlie stable room will bo increased so that there yill be aciiiuinuxla tions for nearly 700 horses It Is probably that a steamer will run from Gravsend Kay to Yonkers every dav for the accommodation of horses that will not be stabled at the track As all of the best horses are engaged In the Kmpire City Stakes there will be much better racing in Westchestcr this year titan last The sport will bo under the control of the regular Jockey Club officials
