Stokes virtually made the pace throughout, came again persistently after being momentarily headed midway of the stretch and outstayed Black Bridge in a terrific drive. The latter, after being reserved in lorward pursuit, closed up rapidly on the far turn, challenged in the last quarter and actually headed th-tavorite when a furlong out, but tired finally and unexpectedly. Regal Royal trailed for the first half and .got into forward contention in the last mile, then dropped back in the last sixteenth and is extra promising. Student King was badly outpaced ail the way, but fenced safelv. Braggart ran a poor race BenCole helped to force the pace for the first mile and was prominent when he fell. Rampart was always. Monfort ran in forward pursuit and lost ground by a wide turn, then finished fast, but failed to get up after being badly impeded by the winner in the last sixteenth. Far AVest, well up from the start, was a fast going third and improved suddenly. Tourenne, after nearest pursuit for a mile and an eighth, was forced to pull up midway of the stretch. Killiecrankie ran well for a mile and an eighth, then dropped out. Pins and Needles trailed for half the journey and unexpectedly failed to come on finally. Rossfento:i broke slowly and was outpaced early, but finished with a game stretch rush. Bonnie Kelso was well up throughout, but weakly ridden at the finish. Golden Legend was boring sharply to the extreme outside from the start and had no chance, but linished close up. George AA Lebolt was gaining in the last quarter.
