SUBURBAN NOMINATIONS NUMBER 47 Additional Entries for Great Handicap of Eastern Racing Received from California and Juarez New York January 10 Practically all of the en ¬ tries to the stakes to be run at Gravesend Sheeps head Bay and Brighton this year have been received by the racing secretaries and last years totals have been surpassed With the receipt of a number of entries from California and Mexico the Coney Island Jockey Club has now received more than 1100 nomi ¬ nations for the eighteen stakes that were closed at midnight January 3 For the Suburban Handicap fortyseven were received the latest ones being Thomas II Williams Big Chief Molera Josephs Bubbling Water Henderson Hogans Captain Mor ¬ ris J O and G II Kcencs Boggs the St James Stables Woolwlnder Max Hirschs Charlie Hargravo and ToplaudThe C C Van Meters The Fad and Toplaud The eutries to the Brooklyn Jockey Clubs stakes show these figures figuresBrooklyn Brooklyn 4o Brookdale 37 Parkway 42 Myrtle 37 Patchogne 30 Manhanset 79 Bedford 59 Clover OS Hanover Kl Broadway 27 Derby 2G Carlton 30 Gazelle 17 17More More than GOO entries have been received by the Brighton Beach Racing Association all of the stakes filling remarkably well The Brighton Handi ¬ cap has drawn more than thirtylive entries The Coney Island Jockey Club has received more than 500 nominations for the Futurity of 1912 1912Jack Jack Atkin though lie has not l een named in the Suburban probably on account of his partiality for a shorter distance Is engaged in all stakes at sprinting distances for which lie Is eligible and James R Kcene IMS his fouryearold Helmet well supplied with engagements Helmet when cam ¬ paigned in England last season failed to race to his twoyearold promise but it was evidently be ¬ cause he was not at himself He has been enjoy ¬ ing the best of health since his return to Sheepshead Bay and trainer Rowe expects that he will give an excellent account of himself during the season seasonAmong Among the entries received from California are nine twoyearolds from A B Spreckels establish ¬ ment They have been nominated for all of the twoycarold fixtures that closed closedBoth Both the Brooklyn Jockey Club and the Brighton Beach Racing Associations also received lists from California and the total of Iwth have been materially swelled The greatest Increase is shown in the two yearold races all of which have attracted good lists
