NOTES OF THE TURF Clarence Davids has purchased Marvin Neal Pedi ¬ gree and Inauguration at Jacksonville JacksonvilleIt It is now said that the Now York racing season will open April 15 and continue until November 15 15Fifteen Fifteen yearlings from Kcnilworth Stock Farm at Pctaluma Cal are to be trained at Tauforan track They are principally by Kenilworth KenilworthParkview Parkview which has run several disappointing races at Jacksonville this winter was raced in England last summer She started only once in that country and finished unplaced She was a stable companion in England of oiscnu a former star that is likewise racing unsuccessfully at Jacksonville JacksonvilleGeorge George Odom will take the field the coming spring with a likely bunch of twoyearolds which he pur ¬ chased last summer besides PrinceGal Follie Levy Bonnie Kelso and Nimbus and he hopes Traveller and Trance Because the latter two have been cripples he lias not made many important engage ¬ ments for them Nimbus is wintering especially well wellOrt Ort Wells the nineyearold son of King Eric and Teas Over after having been in the stud for several seasons has been nominated bv John A Drake for the Brighton Mile the 10O5 running of which he won Tlie return of Ort Wells will be decidedly in ¬ teresting He will have a crop of twoyearolds rac ¬ ing this season In 1904 when Ort Wells was a threeyearold he was winner of the Brighton Derby the Commonweal til Handicap in which he beat The Picket and Irish Lad and the Lawrence Realization The following year he was second to Artful in tlie Brighton Handicap In all Ort Wells was winner of thirteen races out of twentysix starts aud won 75450
