TRAINING OPERATIONS AT BENNING Washington D C March 7 Benning race track is filrly alive these days with horses that are Iniiiig prepared for an early campaign at PInilico and the raws courses on Long Island IslandThe The biggest string of racers in training here is in charge of Amos Turney In his lot are Martin Doyle Tlieo Cook Charley Ball Selwik Olive Ely King Commoner and seven twoyearolds King Com ¬ moner is owned by E M Mitchell of Baltimore Martin Doyle at one time iu the front rank of racers on the western circuit looks well for his age but lacks the snap and fire of his youthful days Theo Cook is the favorite of the stable lx ys He looks so well and moves with such perfect freedom of action that his owner anticipates a winning score for him at Baltimore Tlie youngsters are attractive In WellesW appearance particularly two by Dick Welles W O Scully who recently arrived with seven horses is as busy as a hunter In bird season His lot consists of Hey bourn Plus and Needles and flve twoyearolds Beybonrn has filled out and grown into a finelooking horse during the winter Last summer during the meeting at Empire City he was attacked with fever and skin disease Scully threw him out of training and h s has had a Ion rest Plus and Needles has spread into a lino mare Hubert mareHubert Boyle has the best lot of steeplechasers the grounds In his stable are Thistledale Water on way and Dacra Waterway and Thistledale show ¬ work in their schooling Six horses from the KraVie fine stable were recently added to the lot and are at work oa toe track now
