FAVORITES AGAIN SWEEP THE CARD. First Choices Having Remarkable Run at Jamestown Track— Meeting to Close Next Thursday. Norfolk. Va.. April 7. — Favorites again swept the card at the Jamestown track today. All of them were at odds-on. Inless the hooka soon get a break. there will be some weak-looking bankrolls next Tharaday. on which day the meeting will close. The at tendance was up to the standard. There were several arrivals today, a ig them Ed Peters, of Brooklyn. James McLaughlin, Jr.. with his horses: T. W. Rose, of Washington, and Mose Schetier. a well-known sportsman from Newark. N. J. In the feature race, one mile at special weights. Pins ami Needles was led to the post with a halter and. after propping herself repeatedly, was finally dispatched within two lengths of the others. She ran sourly, however, and third place was her position ! at the end. Tomorrow will lie another Ladies Day at the track and. as there are no opposing attractions, a banner attendance is expected. On Saturday the management will put on a race for the members of the Norfolk Hunt Club, the distance to be one mile and a quarter on the flat. Ten horses, with their owners, all lncmlieis of the Norfolk Hunt Club will participate and a beautiful silver cup will reward the winner.
