LENA LECH KEEPS ON WINNING. San Francisco. Cal.. April 2C. — Lena Lech ran the second fastest race of the season when she gained her fourth straight victory at Oakland todav. The mare was an odds-on favorite, went to the front at once and cantered home in advain-e of Airs and Eddie Graney. Only two favorites materialized, but most of the winners were well supported. When the barrier went up in the two-year-old race. Joe Wells crowded into Ravclstonia. unseating Kent and causing the filly to hump Pearl Bass. Joe Wells then carried Pearl Bass wide for a sixteeutb. causing her to lose all chance. Kent had his leg bruised. Wiltrude S. won from Dacia and Fmory K. Creston Boy was plunged 011 in the third, but after leading to the final furlong he quit badlv. Father Stafford, closing fast, beat E. M. Fry. and the favorite finished third. Batata T. Fryer, favorite in the fourth sulked when it appeared as if he would beat Follie L.. and she led him home. Cnder jockey Williams handling J. It. l.aughrey ran an improved race and beat Mer lingo. Colonel Brady was sold to W. G. Webber and George Knight bought Titlis.
