CL0UDLIGHT AGAIN IN FORM. San Francisco, Cal.. May 5. — Clondlight proved an easy winiie- of the Belmont Handicap, the feature of the card at Oakland today. Fern L. ruled favorite for the race anil got away in front, but Cloud-light caught her quickly and drew away to win by over two lengths from the fast-closing Napa Nick. Fern L. finishing third. The colors of Burns A; Waterhoiise were seen iu front for the first time this season when Altarec won the maiden two-year old race. The sou of Alt:ima romped home, beating Dolly V. B. and Clara Hampton, the favorite. The heavily played Welakao won the second race easily. Ampedo. favorite for the third, made a pixir showing. Salvage winning easily. Aequia broke |ioorly in the fifth, but failed to show her usual speed and Bauonica won all the wav. Airs was bid up from *:: Kl to MM by J. Coburn. brother of jockey Coburn. but was retained. Jockey Coburn was susneinled for three days for misbehavior at the post in tin- first race. Word has been received that 0. A. Bianchi has secured second call ml the services of jockey Archibald for the New York tracks. Originally Bianchi hoped to have first call, but James MeManus was successful in closing a deal for his services. A valuable foal died at the Bianchi farm this week.
