turfites are jubilant over the fact that there is hardly a stake of note in which King George is not represented The royal purple and scarlet Is in for Newmarket Ascot Goodwood Epsom and Doneaster and he has also honored Manchester with his patronage To look still farther ahead he can foe found as a subscriber for the Two Thousand Guineas of 1912 with two Florizel colts from Loch Doon and Guinea lien re ¬ spectively There are colts by Lord Bobs out of MIrabelle and by Thrush out of Laodamina while his only entry for the One Thousand Guineas is a filly by Florizel out of Sweet Vernal This last mentioned Is the only one to live out of six young sters that were kept at Sandringham SandringhamIn In the Derby of next year King George can make selection from the colt by Thrush out of Komrn Csirlincheri a colt by Volodyovski out of Runaway Match and the Mirabelle colt None of these has shown much form as a twoyearold but on account of the death of Kiug Edward the royal stable had a year off The colt by Thrush out of Laodamina is in for the Caterham Plate and for the Acorn Stakes restricted to twoyearold fillies are nomi ¬ nated the filly by Flying Fox out of April Princess the filly youngsters died Of late the stud has been reenforced by the addition of Pearl of the Loch aud Prim Nun both by Persimmon and Saints Mead by St Simon A filly which will be watched with melancholy interest is Witch of the Air by Robert le Diable Vane a sister to Flying Fox She won the Spring Plato at Kemptou a few hours before the death of King Edward and he smiled when he was informed of the victory before he passed away Richard Marsh who set up such a fine record for King Udward will again have charge of the royal racing stable and will handle all the candidates for the flat events although a big batch of yearlings will be sent to G W Lushington at the Curragh of Kildare Ireland IrelandLord Lord Marcus Beresford will be intrusted with the management of the royal racing stable and the stud as he was in King Edwards time aud some of the youngsters have been nominated in his name but no doubt there will be a change later on onIti Iti commenting on the rest of the nominations which have appeared in the latest issue of the Hacing Calendar Vigilant has the following to say in the Sportsman The entries generally are more satis ¬ factory and reveal a healthy state of affairs been nominated for the Dewhurst Plate PlateThe The Two Thousand Guineas has closed with 125 subscribers and tbe One Thousand with two short of a hundred which is a good showing as in each instance
