GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION Lexington Ky December 17 J F Newman ot Sweetwater Tex has arranged with Irving II Wlieatcroft to send three mares from his establish ¬ ment in the Lone Star State to the St James Stud near this city to be mated with the English stallion St Savin son of St Simon and Aboyne by Hamp ¬ ton Mr Newman has indicated that the frequent winner Our Bessie daughter of Lord Dalmcuy and Bessie Bisland and dam of High Culture is to be one of the trio while Sainvokc a young daughter of Sain and Revoke wilbe another Mr Newman has not decided upon the third mare Our Bessie it is understood is in foal and her offspring is to be dropped here St Savin was brought over from England last winter and he made his first season on this side of the Atlantic at the St James Stud last spring The first of his get is due from the English mare First Land daughter of Pioneer and Acra and dam of Molllc Donohuc and First Pirate about January 23 23Mr Mr Wheatcroft has decided to limit St Savin and Cesarion to thirty mares each including his own for the season of 1911 and the books of both stallions are jiow nearly full In addition to the three mares booked by Mr Newman Dr J D Neet of the Kindergarten Stud at Versailles has listed to St Savin the following Dancing Wave halfsister to Pentecost Intrepidity dam of In ¬ trinsic Independence Day dam of Spencer Wells and La Creole dam of Trepan Slglignt Don Creole and Arolia J B Viley of the Stonewall Stud at Midway has also arranged for three seasons to St Savin and two to Cesarion and will make his choice of mares later Thomas Piatt ot this city has arranged to return Clara Bauer to Cesarion This decision follows the splendid reports that have been received here concerning the coming twoyearold chestnut colt by Cesarion Clara Bauer now in the string Henry McDaniel is training for It L Thomas at Juarez McDaniel bought this colt here for 1000 considerably less than he paid for some others in his stable and it is now related that he has worked a quarter in 22 faster time than has been shown by any other horse of his age in this country this year yearThe The weanling chestnut filly by St Avonicns Miss Ringlets ran into a tree at Idle Hour Farm and broke her neck S C Hlldreth has a yearling half brother to her that is said to be a wonder wonderAndrew Andrew Miller the New York turfman spent today here en route from French Lick Ind to New York He is optimistic as to the future of the turf In the east
