PRISCILLIAN EQUALS AN AMERICAN RECORD. Runs Three-quarters of a Mile in 1:11 in Taking Stake Feature of Hamilton Program. Hamilton, Out.. June 1ft. — Brilliant sport was provided at Hamilton this afternoon. In the Went-worth Plate, at three-quarters of a mile. August Belmonts Iriscilliaii. an added starter, ciiualcd the American record for the distance by running it in 1:11. Priadlllan was eoejnled with Watervale as the Belmont entry, and the race was merely a battle between trainers Whalen and Ilildreth. Pris-cillian being trained by the latter and Watervale by Whalen. The three year-old was giving Iriscilliaii two pounds in actual weight and was only beaten a head, so his showing was really mare meritorious than the winners, iriscilliaii was ridden by C. H. Shilling and had the inside position. When the break came the pair left the harrier like a team and they raced heads apart for the entire distance, first one showing in front and then the other. At the finish Iriscilliaii appeared to be going easily, while Began was riding Watervale hard. S. . I lil dreth saddled another winner in Hampton Court, which made a runaway victory of the Hotel Royal Handicap. The Dnudas Handicap Steeplechase went to Waterway, which won under wraps from Stalker. Diana Ken. the only other starter, struck one of the wings at the first fence and this put him out of the struggle. The attendance was again large and speculation was brisk. Four favorites scored. Watkins old campaigner, was jumped on and cut down in the race over tin-grass coarse on Saturday. It is said that the Ontario Jockey Club is after a new site for a track and that an option has been obtained on land located at Lorn Dark, which is seven miles from Toronto. Jockey Steele was suspended for live days by the starter and Pickens for three days. Cross was given three days by the steward for striking at Iickcns with his whip during the running of the seventh race. Rose Queen, recently claimed by Sain Louis, has been sold to J. W.
